Arithmetic: ($699 - $199) x 12 = $500 x 12 = $6,000. ($699 - $399) x 12 = $3,600. ($699 - $459) x 12 = $2,880. ($699 - $599) x 12 = $1,200. Sources: Deel, Oyster, RemoFirst, G-P, Playroll, Atlas HXM. Multiplier is a third-party figure, and "from" prices may not apply in your country; verify with provider.
Because of country coverage
Vendor claims for EOR: Remote 90+, Oyster 120+, Atlas over 160, G-P 180+, RemoFirst 185+, Deel 150+ (all claims, not audited). If your country is missing from Remote's list, you do not need a long comparison; you need a provider that names your country. The country files in this site show where entity requirements apply; for example Vietnam, Thailand, India and the Philippines all need a local entity for direct employment, so the EOR's country footprint decides whether you can hire at all. Ask any alternative whether it runs your country on an owned entity or a partner. Deel's mix of owned entities and partners is described in its own blog on owned entity versus in-country partner; Atlas claims owned entities (vendor claim, unverified).
Because of contractor cost
For 10 contractors per month: Remote basic $29 x 10 = $290; Deel $49 x 10 = $490; G-P from $39 x 10 = $390; Playroll $35 x 10 = $350 (third-party); Oyster $29 x 10 = $290 after 30 free days; RemoFirst Premium $25 x 10 = $250. Remote is already cheap on contractors; only RemoFirst undercuts it among the prices we have. If contractor price is your complaint, the alternative is smaller than you think: $290 versus $250 is $40 a month, or $480 a year.
Because you need payroll without an EOR
Remote's $29 Global Payroll applies when you already have foreign entities. The alternatives we found: Papaya Global (160+ countries claim, sales-quoted, no retrievable public price) and Rippling (modular, conflicting third-party prices). Playroll reportedly lists Global Payroll Manager at $2.07 per employee per month in a third-party snippet, which looks too low to rely on without confirmation. Compare total cost including implementation fees, not the per-seat line. Details in global payroll vs EOR.
Because you already use another HR platform
Rippling positions global hiring as a module of an HR, IT and finance suite. Third-party estimates for its EOR range from "around $500" to $1,000 per employee per month with no vendor confirmation, so budget by getting a quote. If you live in Rippling for payroll and device management, a module is convenient; if you only need EOR, it is a poor fit (editorial inference).
Cost example: 1, 5 and 10 hires
EOR fees only, annual, at list prices (salary and employer contributions are the same across providers for the same country).

$11,940 |
| 10 |
$83,880 |
$71,880 |
$47,880 |
$23,880 |
Arithmetic: $699 x 12 = $8,388; x 5 = $41,940. $599 x 12 = $7,188; x 5 = $35,940. $399 x 12 = $4,788; x 5 = $23,940. $199 x 12 = $2,388; x 5 = $11,940. At 10 hires the Remote-to-Deel gap is $83,880 - $71,880 = $12,000 a year. At that headcount in one country, you should also price an entity; the method is in EOR vs PEO vs own entity. Sample: a $30,000 annual entity cost (hypothetical) breaks even against Remote at $30,000 / $8,388 = 3.6, so 4 hires.
Decision rules
Rule of thumb, not law:
- Your country is on Remote's list and you value having every price published: Remote is defensible; the premium over Deel is $100 a month per head.
- You have under 3 hires and fees are the largest lever: get written quotes from RemoFirst, Playroll and Multiplier. Check the "from" language.
- You hire in a country Remote does not list: drop it.
- You want to keep all your hiring on one platform with contractors and PEO: Deel's single pricing page covers EOR, contractors, CoR and US PEO. Remote also lists all of those.
- You need a negotiated enterprise deal with volume discounts: G-P states volume discounts and no minimum contract length; Atlas states volume discounts per a third-party summary.
What switching costs you
If you already employ people through Remote, moving them is not a fee-for-fee swap. The employment contract sits with Remote's local entity, so a switch means a transfer of employment to another provider's entity, or to your own. That can involve new contracts, employee consent, a payroll cut-over and, in some countries, a break in statutory service records. We found no public page from any provider describing transfer terms, so treat this as a question for the sales team: ask what documentation is needed, whether service is recognised as continuous, and whether any transfer fee applies. Verify with provider.
A saving of $1,200 per head per year (Remote to Deel) is worth chasing at 10 hires ($12,000 a year), but at one hire it may not repay the administrative effort. Rule of thumb: switch an existing hire only when the annual saving exceeds the cost of a day or two of your own time plus any fee quoted; for new hires, choose freely.
Bottom line
Remote is not the cheapest EOR or the widest, but it publishes more prices than any other vendor in our set. Alternatives are cheaper by $1,200 to $6,000 per employee per year on list prices, and wider by claimed country coverage. Before switching, ask for a country-specific written quote, because several lower prices are "from" figures or third-party reports. All prices were checked 2026-10-05 and may change; verify with provider. This is general information, not legal or tax advice, and we have not tested any of these products.
